Do you remember being eight years old at your best friend’s birthday party?  Remember how there was always one kid who came with the most beautifully wrapped gift? How her (mom’s) handiwork was so inspired that it made that BARBIE/copy of MATILDA/LISA FRANK sticker collection seem even more awesome due to it’s layers of perfectly folded paper and beautifully coiled ribbons?

I was not that girl.  But I appreciated her.  I was inspired by her.  And it stayed with me.

Though it’s been several years (decades) since those birthday party days I find that today I’m the girl who’ll often buy the wine with the most appealing label, go to the cafe with the prettiest logo (and fleur de lis foam on my latte) and occasionally even judge a book by it’s cover (literally!)  Because I see so much beauty in the world and sometimes these little details can really heighten an already lovely experience and bring it to that next level of special.

I’m not gonna lie, I also really love embossing stamps…

Without further ado I share with you, internet, some of my new adventures in album/dvd packaging:

My DVD cases have a little cameo photo to remind the holder what’s hidden inside…

I love my Sparrow logo (my family nickname has been “Sparrow” since the day I was born…) and I have had such fun using this customized rubber stamp in all sorts of decorative projects…  And yes, some of them may have included doilies…

…Another of which being the stamping and embossing of little kraft paper gift tags…

My DVDs have been pre screened with my logo and info…  So has my stationary…

I just love the look of kraft paper wrapped with twine and lace…  It’s also a great use for recycling brown paper bags!  Throw on a little crocheted doily and you’re in business…

All of the crafty ingredients to this project (twine, hemp, kraft paper, ink, embossing powder, doilies, ribbons, box, etc.) came from the Hobby Lobby.  The ideas came from a combo of pinterest inspirations and my own crafty mad scientist laboratory…

And just for fun, check out this little video from IFC’s PORTLANDIA.  I am completely this person when it comes to decor:
